Our client is a leading German industrial automation company that develops and delivers advanced technical solutions for manufacturing, production, and engineering environments.
As the business continues to expand, they are seeking an experienced Sales Director to lead commercial strategy, accelerate growth, and strengthen relationships across the German and wider European market.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a commercially driven sales professional with deep experience in industrial automation, B2B technology, or technically complex solution sales.
The Role
Reporting to the senior leadership team, the Sales Director will take ownership of the sales strategy and lead a high-performing commercial function. You will combine strategic direction with hands-on leadership to deliver growth, improve pipeline quality, and build long-term customer value.
Key responsibilities include:
• Developing and executing the sales strategy for the German market.
• Leading, coaching, and developing the sales team to deliver consistent performance.
• Driving new business across industrial automation, OEM, and technical B2B sectors.
• Managing key accounts and strategic customer relationships at senior level.
• Overseeing pipeline management, forecasting, and commercial reporting.
• Working closely with product, operations, marketing, and leadership teams.
• Identifying new market opportunities and supporting profitable growth initiatives.
The Candidate
We are looking for a strong sales leader with at least 10 years’ experience in sales, business development, or commercial leadership, ideally within industrial automation or a related technical sector.
You will need:
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in sales or commercial leadership.
• Proven success in industrial automation, machinery, engineering, or B2B technology.
• Experience leading and developing high-performing sales teams.
• Strong track record of winning and growing major accounts.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• A strategic mindset with the ability to remain commercially hands-on.
• Fluency in German and strong professional English communication skills.
